I’ve always been interested in how often the same idea shows up in different places.
A concept might appear in a book, a business problem, an investment thesis, a conversation or a piece of history. The language changes. The context changes. Sometimes the conclusion changes too. But underneath it, there is often something familiar.
That raises a question I keep coming back to: if many ideas have been explored before, what makes one version resonate more than another?
Part of it is timing. Part of it is experience. Part of it is how clearly someone can explain what they see. Two people can look at the same facts and come away with very different interpretations, shaped by what they have lived through, what they know and what they notice.
A lot of my own thinking works that way. I tend to connect ideas across business strategy, operations, customer behavior, technology, investing and whatever else I happen to be studying at the time. Sometimes those connections are useful. Sometimes they simply lead to better questions.
This site is a place to capture some of that thinking as it develops — observations from work, companies I study, people I learn from, and ideas I want to understand better.
I don’t expect every thought here to be original. I do hope the perspective is my own. And if something here helps you see a problem differently, connect a few dots faster, or ask a better question, then it has served its purpose.
